Fatherhood Awards

National Strategic Conference on Fatherhood

At the National Strategic Conference on Fatherhood held on the 19th August 2003, Awards were given out to those who had significantly contributed to fatherhood reform in Australia.
Award ceremony was Chaired by Warwick Marsh & Richard Yiap with assistance from Deputy Prime Minister Hon John Anderson and Adrienne Burgess.

1) Fatherhood & Parliament - Hon Paul Calvert
President of the Senate – leader in father’s and men’s issues and sponsor of the Fathering Forum & National Strategic Conference on Fatherhood.

2) Fatherhood & Parliament - Hon Roger Price
Labor reformer for family law and chairman of the 94/95 parliamentary report. Long time leader in father’s and men’s issues within parliamentary circles.

3) Fatherhood & Reform - Barry Williams
Founder of the Lone Fathers Association – 30 years. The pioneer of fatherhood reform in Australia.
Celebration Monday, 18th August.

4) Fatherhood & Leadership - Wes Carter
Founder of Men’s Health & Well-being with along history of leadership in the men’s movement and encouragement of fathers.

5) Fatherhood & Research - Professor Graeme Russell
Innovator and researcher for fatherhood issues for almost 30 years. Author of many reports and publications affecting government policy on fathers and families.

6) Fatherhood & Media - Rex Finch
Founder of Finch Publishing. Published dozens of books on fathering, families, parenting and men’s issues. Founder of Fathers for the Future, Fathering for the Future and Dads Unlimited.

7) Fatherhood & Love - Ron Williams
Aboriginal pastor & elder with a passion for mentoring young men. Widely regarded as a father in the faith and a leader in reconciliation.

8) Fatherhood & Sport - Paul Osborne
Well known sporting identity. Played front row forward with Canberra Raiders. Passionate father with seven children.

Fatherhood Forum 2005

At the Fatherhood Forum 21 June 2005 the following parliamentarians and community leaders received awards in recognition of their leadership and compassion for Australian fathers and families.

20. Lindsay Tanner MP - in appreciation for his writings on building quality relationships & their importance in national life

21. Ken Ticehurst MP - in appreciation of his longstanding support for men as fathers & family law reform

22. Eric Trzise - in appreciation for his work and sacrifice in addressing the crisis of men’s suicide

23. Hon Danna Vale MP - in appreciation for her passion for families & her support for the men’s movement

24. Alasdair Webster – in appreciation for being a father in the faith in parliament & father to the fatherless

25. Paul Whyte – in appreciation for founding the Sydney Men’s Network & his passionate support for men as fathers

Sexual Integrity Forum

Recognition Awards were presented at the Sexual Integrity Forum Dinner, held in the Reps Alcove at Parliament House on Monday 8th August for outstanding work and leadership in the community in promoting sexual integrity and working toward ending the sexual exploitation of women and children in Australia in the 21st century.

for her work with ‘Youth off the Streets’ and her work to end child sexual abuse

Founder of ‘Federation for the Family’ for his work to end the sexual exploitation of women & children

7. Linda Watson
